• So, I booked my car [2008 Vauxhall Astra] for a service and MOT. First thing these guys did was (unlike my usual garage) point out I only needed an interim service rather than a Full one.
  
  The next day (randomly - 4 days before my MOT and service) my car breaks down at work.
  
  Not knowing what else to do I tell the tow truck guy to take it to Monks Auto (already closed at this point in the night). Tow truck guy tells me it’s a pretty good choice in garage.
  
  Next working day I call up Monks and explain the problem.
  They get right on it and I get myself a fixed car (alternator had gone and 2 very dodgy tires on inside edge). They had serviced it and got the MOT done before the date I had booked it in for!
  
  So I go to pay (the very reasonable bill - my old garage would have charged double) and ask - whilst I'm there, is there anything else ont he car to sort as an advisory.
  Nope, it’s all running well with no problems now.
  
  Brilliant.
  
  In summary (from my experience) - Good reliable guys, no bullshitting, no upselling, no bluffing and with an extremely fair/competitive price tag.

• I randomly came across Monks when I stupidly got my son's car seat stuck in my car as the seat belt jammed - I needed somewhere near to work to fix it quickly and Monks did just that (without judgement of my stupidity :)
  
  This made me return when my brakes were making a horrendous noise and Monks fixed them quickly whilst keeping me updated. It's hard to find a garage you can trust nowadays, and Monks is just that!
